The Great Beach Walk 2024 - Down Syndrome Wexford

Down Syndrome Wexford provide support and services to people with Down syndrome and their families though a national office and 25 branches nationwide.  They provide an ‘all-through-life’ supports to people with Down syndrome and their families across Ireland with specialists in the areas of health, speech and language, early development, education and adult education and independence that enhance the lives of thousands of children and adults with Down syndrome across the country.

Down Syndrome Wexford are inviting everyone to participate in short and longer beach walks, refreshments and entertainment afterwards in The Strand Cahore (Y25 K063) on Monday 19th August 2024.

They are raising funds to help their members in Wexford access vital intervention services such as speech and language therapy (SLT), occupational therapy (OT). They also run numerous networking events for children and their parents. We need your help to reach these goals, without donations this branch cannot continue to provide support to families in our community who need it.

It will be a brilliant day for all involved in one of Wexford’s best seaside locations. Cahore is at the Northern end of longest unbroken beach (19 kilometres) in Ireland. It is an ideal amenity for such a great walk to raise funds. 

Those wishing to be involved can book participation in the following walks, price also includes burger and refreshments. 

11am - 3kms - Start Old Bawn Car Park (An Taisce Flag)
1pm – 1.5kms Start South Beach Entrance (Buggy Friendly Route)
1.15pm - 6kms - Start Morriscastle Car Park (An Taisce Flag)
