Guinness Chocolate Cake

Stage 1

230g Guinness
175g Sour Cream
2 Eggs
130g Unsalted Butter
1 tablespoon Vanilla Essence
200g Cacoa Powder
360g Castor Sugar
120g Dark Brown Sugar
470g White Flour
20g Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon Salt

Stage 2

Preheat oven to 180c
Grease loaf tin
In a pot place Guinness and butter and place over heat until melted
Add Cacoa and sugar and whisk together
Take off heat and allow to come to room temperature
Beat sour cream, eggs and vanilla together
Add the Guinness mixture to this
In a separate bowl sieve flour, baking soda and salt
Add the entire wet mixture to the dry mix and whisk together
Pour the mixture into prepped loaf tin
Cook for 50-60 minutes
Turn out onto wire rack to cool

Stage 3
Make Vanilla Butter Icing (see separate recipe)

*Once cake is cooled, butter on the icing with a pallet knife
