Celebrate Bealtaine This May Bank Holiday

May Day (Lá Bealtaine) is the first Monday of May and one of the four major Irish Celtic annual festivals along with Samhain, Imbolc and Lughnasa.

Here at The Strand Cahore we are looking forward to welcoming the return of the light, alongwith our customers, both new and familiar, after such a long wet winter...

May Bank Holiday Weekend at The Strand Cahore, Co Wexford

Pet Friendly Dining - Cliff Walk to Sandy beach - Takeaway Coffee, Pizza and Treats from Award Winning Seabiscuit - Stunning Sea Views

Lá Bealtaine is celebrated throughout the island of Ireland on the first Monday of May as we gather together, family and friends to welcome the beginning of Summer and the return of Light!

Keep an eye on our Facebook Page and Instagram to stay updated on our Bealtaine news!

Located just an hour from Dublin and Wexford The Strand Cahore sits atop a hillside offering panoramic sea views up the East Coast to Wicklow Head. It makes for an ideal day out for all the family with lot's to do in the area.

The Cahore Point Walking Trail begins on our doorstep taking you around the cliff head to the beautiful sandy beach of Old Bawn and beyond.

Crab Fishing is a popular family fun activity on the pier and crab lines etc can be purchased from Rath Stores (aka Tom Redmonds) in Ballygarrett village.

The 'Sunny South East' is, of course, known for getting more sunshine than any other part of Ireland, however, Ireland being Ireland, one can never be too sure.. Regardless of the weather you CAN be sure of a warm welcome, great food and friendly atmosphere, but don't take our word for it - here's what our customers have to say:

"Amazing meal for one (plus my little dog)!! Best dinner I have had out in a long time!
Did a little stroll on the coast walk before heading in.
Have been craving a lasagne for a long time and it was absolutely delicious in The Strand, so thank you to the waitress for recommending it!"
- Karen H

"A Gem. Excellent location, situated on a little hill overlooking the coast. 2 minutes walk from the beach, and right at the edge of a costal walkway. Dog friendly, obviously on a lead, and not disruptive. Parking for their customers. Great food, for different times of the day..."
- Carol D

"One of the many little gems fitted around our coast, this place is beautiful. Located right by the sea the views from its raised location are incredible! Just stunning regardless of weather. A warm and cosy classic "Irish" feel inside, you would happily stay here all day and still not want to leave."
